Ceramic Sand B40 for tire steel molds surface blasting

Ceramic sand B40 is a kind of shotblasting media from Zircon sand by electrofusing process. The ceramic sand B40 used for sandblasting tire steel molds has the following significant advantages:

1. High surface treatment efficiency.

The Mohs hardness of ceramic sand is 7.0, and the Vickers hardness is 700HV. It can effectively remove the oxide layer, carbon deposits, and residual rubber on the surface of the mold, restore the smoothness of the mold, and improve the demolding performance during tire molding.

2. The surface roughness of the mold has high consistency.

After sandblasting with ceramic sand, a uniform micro texture can be formed, and the surface of the treated metal mold is shiny. This can enhance the adhesion between the mold and rubber, and reduce bubbles or defects during tire vulcanization.

3. Minimal damage to the mold.

The spherical particles of ceramic sand have low etching resistance to molds. Compared with ordinary abrasive corundum abrasive, ceramic sand causes less damage to the matrix of steel molds, avoiding the decrease in dimensional accuracy caused by excessive cutting.

4. High mechanical strength.

Strong resistance to breakage, particles are not easily shattered after impact, reducing dust generation, maintaining stable sandblasting effect, and extending the service life of the mold.

5. High economic benefits.

Ceramic sand blasting material can be recycled (60-80 times), with a service life far exceeding that of glass bead abrasives of the same spherical shape, significantly reducing consumable costs.

6. Strong adaptability to the process.

The particle range of ceramic sand B40 is 250-425um. Suitable for fine processing of complex mold patterns, balancing efficiency and details, especially suitable for cleaning precision structures such as tread patterns. Meanwhile, ceramic sand is compatible with both dry and wet sandblasting, with high process flexibility.
